The October/November 2014 Challenge was to use used wine corks.
I made some jewellery and cut up the corks as a wine bottle cork itself is not that attractive and I wanted to end up with a more artistic approach than just putting corks together. I first tried painting them but covering up the whole cork rather defeated the purpose of using corks so I decided on stripes and white was the only colour that worked. Two bracelets were made using old wooden and porcelain beads and cork discs. The necklace was made using pieces of cork in a silver frame with a silver chain.
Two other interesting pieces were made using whole corks. Nothing artistic about them but they were fun to make.
